Our Trainers

Barbara Getts

I started riding at ten years old and owned my first horse at twelve. I received instruction from my uncle as well as many other instructors throughout the years. By age 18, my family was the proud owners of Lucky C Stable in Mount Laurel, NJ where we boarded horses and gave riding lessons. My experience includes English and western riding as well polo. I have owned Arrowhead Stable for twelve years providing boarding and instruction. I love teaching adults to ride and excel at matching people with the right horse. My experience also includes training horses.

I have worked with horses since then, was involved with 4H and currently own a paint gelding. Due to my experience as a preschool teacher and my education in elementary education, my focus is on teaching young children.

Our Helper

Natural Horsemanship with Lynn Cheetham

Training horses and teaching people using natural horsemanship techniques. Love, language and leadership are what we will use as we play on the ground with the horse. Special attention is placed on safety for anytime you interact with a horse; whether it is when your leading, grooming or tacking up. This is great for both horse and human. Any problem you have with a horse are cause by a lack of respect, fear, or in some cases both. By teaching these natural horsemanship techniques it will allow you to build respect and trust with your horse. As we use our body language to communicate with the horse, the horse will become stimulated using his mind. You will see the horse looking to you for direction as the trust and respect he/she has for you grows. You will gain confidence on the ground that will carry over when you ride, seeing that the techniques taught on the ground first are then easier to learn under saddle. You will also gain a willing partner who respects you as your herd of two. This program even works well with some physical limitations. So whether you ride or not, this is a fun way to be with horses and learn it can be more than riding.
